Today there has been some new action on the Petvalu. They had lights on and there was one man working inside. He had a work truck in the back. The Petvalu also has a NOW HIRING banner in their front window. At this point we don't know if they will sell dogs or cats. But we sure hope they will.

West End Action!
Have you seen Media's west end? It is transforming. First of all the old Marty's service station at the other end of State Street is becoming a Burlap and Bean coffee shop. This business already has a nearby location up Route 252 in Newtown Square. Also a lot of activity on the new developments. One major one at the old Best Produce named West End Flats has been going a bit slower recently while work on West End Walk across the street is speeding up a bit more. Both are on the ground work stage of construction.

Activity At New Media Wawa Site
Finally! More work was being done today at the Media Super Wawa site. Machines are back on it as well as some materials needed for the job. Hopefully more work will be done in the coming weeks. It should be built and open by the first quarter of 2017.

Lots Of New Work Around Town
Today a lot of jobs took place around Media. If you're heading up the hill on Gayley Street you may be happy that some of the bamboo may have been taken down. Rita's Water Ice was also having some sort of work done on their sign on Route 252. And last but not least two corners on Jefferson Street are getting new sidewalks. Nice to see the improvements!

Final Steps at Jefferson Square
Construction is pretty much finished at Jefferson Square at the corner of Jefferson and Edgemont Streets in Media. Final landscaping is underway. Act now because a banner hanging from one of the new apartments on site says there are only 1 unit left. It should be finished soon!

Take The Plum Street Mall Survey
The Plum Street Mall is the main place to go for entertainment in Downtown Media. In order to make the best of your experience Media Borough wants you to take a survey on the downtown pedestrian area. It needs to be shadier, more comfortable, easier to walk through and work better for music venues. Media Borough would also want some sort of water feature there and some more public art. They also want to know what you like and don't like about the current mall. Their focusing on the main part between State and Jasper Streets know but you can still comment on the North and South blocks. The borough thanks you for completing the survey. Type in the link below or find it under the latest news at the bottom left of mediaborough.com.

Official Media Super Wawa Drawings
There are many more photos available online for the proposed Super Wawa In Media Borough. Work has been slow and should pick back up in October. Two telephone poles with wires from both Comcast and Verizon have been delaying the work. It should open in the first quarter of 2017 backed up from December of this year. If you wish to read the official drawings they are below. The 1.5 acre site is outlined in pink. Starbucks will remain at the main gateway.
Media Attracts Convenience Stores
Most of you already know that there is a new super Wawa coming to Media. It is going to be they're flagship store! But Wawa isn't the only convenience store coming to Media. There is going to be a Royal Farms coming too! It will be at the site of the old Little Inn. The old Little Inn also included Maggie Hooks and the Generations Restaurant. There is not much more information on the Royal Farms but there is on the Wawa. Bob Linn from Linn Architects supplied the Wawa pictures years ago. You probably have not seen them. So look at the pictures below:

Philadelphia Edition: FMC
Hello! Did you notice anything different about the title? Well, there is going to be a Philadelphia series to this blog, too. Hope you enjoy!
As you must already know, there is a new skyscraper going up in Philadelphia. The FMC Tower. Believe it or not, FMC has already moved in. Many people think this is strange. Do you? The outer construction that they still need to do is a floor at the top to hold air conditioners, heaters, and other things like that.
