End of the Getty near?

The main Getty sign is now down.  It still looks open and they do show their prices.  But with the Super Wawa coming along, how much longer will the Getty be around?

Thank You To All Who Came Out To The Santa Parade

This years Santa Parade was a huge success. It's only the third year of the parade and it keeps getting better and better. NBC and ABC both came out to report the fun event. To watch go to the parade's Facebook page. Thank you to all who came and supported the event!

Nikos By The Granite Run Mall Is Now The 1010 Pizza And Grill

Nikos Brick Oven Pizza and Grill in Lima near the old Granite Run Mall is now the 1010 Pizza and Grill named after it's location at 1010 W. Baltimore Pike. Renovations from Nikos are now complete and the new restaurant is now open. They are still hiring at the new location though. I wish them well and hope the pizza place can do well. If you try it they would love to hear your feedback. Especially with their square pizza which they are home of. Their menu is on their website. To order call 484-444-2590 or order online at 1010pizza.com/. And once you've ordered online you can stay on their website and track your order! Sounds good and yummy! Good luck to the 1010 Pizza and Grill!

Holiday Decorations Are Pretty Much Set Up In Media.

The holidays are getting closer and more decorations are popping up around town. Lights are lined up on all of the State Street businesses. It was a beautiful setting for last weekends Santa Parade and all the other fun events that make Media special. The Courthouse is decorated as well with wreaths and garlands. There are some more wreaths on some Baltimore Avenue telephone poles in town. Santa is back on top of the Media Real Estate building with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on top of the Pinocchio's Restaurant.

Fast Progress at the West End, Slow Progress at the East

There is a lot of construction activity at the west end of Baltimore Pike.  In recent days there have been construction crews at West End Flats, West End Walk, and the new coffee shop.

West End Action!

Have you seen Media's west end? It is transforming. First of all the old Marty's service station at the other end of State Street is becoming a Burlap and Bean coffee shop. This business already has a nearby location up Route 252 in Newtown Square. Also a lot of activity on the new developments. One major one at the old Best Produce named West End Flats has been going a bit slower recently while work on West End Walk across the street is speeding up a bit more. Both are on the ground work stage of construction.

Lots Of New Work Around Town

Today a lot of jobs took place around Media. If you're heading up the hill on Gayley Street you may be happy that some of the bamboo may have been taken down. Rita's Water Ice was also having some sort of work done on their sign on Route 252. And last but not least two corners on Jefferson Street are getting new sidewalks. Nice to see the improvements!

Take The Plum Street Mall Survey

The Plum Street Mall is the main place to go for entertainment in Downtown Media. In order to make the best of your experience Media Borough wants you to take a survey on the downtown pedestrian area. It needs to be shadier, more comfortable, easier to walk through and work better for music venues. Media Borough would also want some sort of water feature there and some more public art. They also want to know what you like and don't like about the current mall. Their focusing on the main part between State and Jasper Streets know but you can still comment on the North and South blocks. The borough thanks you for completing the survey. Type in the link below or find it under the latest news at the bottom left of mediaborough.com.

Media Attracts Convenience Stores

Most of you already know that there is a new super Wawa coming to Media. It is going to be they're flagship store! But Wawa isn't the only convenience store coming to Media. There is going to be a Royal Farms coming too! It will be at the site of the old Little Inn. The old Little Inn also included Maggie Hooks and the Generations Restaurant. There is not much more information on the Royal Farms but there is on the Wawa. Bob Linn from Linn Architects supplied the Wawa pictures years ago. You probably have not seen them. So look at the pictures below:
