Update to 5/26 Post: T-Mobile Coming to Media Shopping Center

As said in another post, a new store is coming to the Media Shopping Center in between the Lab Corp and Supercuts. We heard the store is going to be a T-Mobile. It is always good to see one less empty store front.

We also heard that the new Wawa in Media will be opening around July 26-28th.

  1. Too bad Verizon is not still there, too. It could have been a mobile phone hub.

    1. Verizon has a better network than T-Mobile, although T-Mobile has been steadily improving. It would be cool if there was a shopping center that had T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon. Then you could shop for the deal that is the best for your needs.

  2. This is good news! But this stores never seem to last long. Since T-Mobile is growing, maybe this one will stay longer.

  3. If a shopping center is to thrive it needs businesses that actually bring people in on a daily or weekly basis. How many times do you need to go to a phone store after you buy your phone?

    1. On the bright side, at least it won't add much car traffic! But you are right, generating more foot traffic helps all the stores.

  4. I hope all the road markings across Providence Road make it pedestrian-friendly and easy to cross. With the Wawa and Starbucks right there, it would be nice if it is easy for State Street to "extend" into the shopping center without risking your life. Also, walking into media from the Hampton inn would be difficult today. It would also be helpful if those crossings were more pedestrian friendly. But considering the volume of cars in the area, and only getting worse, I don't think that is going to happen.

  5. If the ACME ever closes, then this would be the best location for a larger Trader Joes, if they are looking to go larger. As State Street gets more successful, it makes life harder for Trader Joes because they are dependent on customers that come and park. Not that I want the ACME to close, but if they do, hopefully the timing works out where Trader Joes can make a quick move.
