Rose Tree Wawa Now Open!

The Rose Tree Wawa on Providence road is now open! It is Media's third Wawa. The original was one the first Wawas ever to be built. Eventually, the space got to be too small, and so they upgraded into a bigger location on the same spot.It has been closed for the past months due to construction, but it is back open.

Media Santa Parade 2018

Sunday's Santa Parade on State Street was a lot of fun.  Here is a time lapse video of the first part of the parade:

That quick video was about 15 minutes of the parade.  Here are the other parts of the parade:

Media Restaurants Gaining Popularity!

The restaurants of Media PA are certainly making bigger names for themselves. They are gaining popularity - and growing. On a visit to West Chester, we saw a storefront with the sign Sterling Pig: Coming Soon! This shows that the restaurants of Media are gaining popularity because they are expanding to new locations. And although already a chain, Iron Hill has a new location in Philly in the Market East area.

This is the picture of the new Sterling Pig going on to Market Street In West Chester. The new location is the building with the plywood.

All-New State Street Sandwiches!

In the store front of the former Buddy's burgers, a new eatery has come! State Street sandwiches is now coming soon! This should be good for Media, because there will be one less empty storefront.

This is the new coming soon sign for the exciting approach of State Street Sandwiches

Baltimore Pike is Opening For Business!

Two projects on Baltimore Pike are opening up for business. For starters, the CVS construction finished up and it is now open. Also, West End Flats is now leasing their units. That project is not yet finished, but soon will be. This is pretty big news, considering that these two projects have been in the making for a pretty long time.

In this picture, you can see that there are cars in the parking lot, and the CVS is already being used.

This picture gives you more of an idea of what the finished product looks like.

This is one of the 'Now Leasing' banners that are in front of West End Flats.

Unique Boutique To Close

Sadly, the Unique Boutique on State Street is going to close. Their Facebook page says sometime at the end of May. There is a store closing, 50 percent off sale sign on the front window of the store. Since Media can't give business to any more restaurants really, and retail stores have trouble surviving, we may be looking at a lot of empty store fronts soon.

Buddy's Burgers in Media to Close May 31

We are sorry to say that Buddy's Burgers in Media at the corner of Orange and State will be closing on May 31.  We don't believe their other locations are closing.  Before this was Buddy's, it was Zack's Burgers.  We will miss them, but will plan to visit the West Chester location for our burger needs.

Activity at the Media Shopping Center

Work has finally started on the Starbucks at the Media Shopping Center. It has been fenced off for a while now, but construction did not start. Now as you can see in the pictures, there is a large truck and work has began.

New Sign At Wendy's!

The Media Wendy's got a new sign for their store! They got rid of the old one and now have a new, simpler one. It is the logo that they are now using for their new stores. And who knows, maybe it is the first step to renovating their store? Also, at the Getty, the Eagles merchandise tent store is still standing!

From here, you can see the new sign at Wendy's.

Media Wawa Reopened!

The Media Wawa at Baltimore Ave. and Monroe St. is now open! It has finished renovations and has transformed from old to new. It now has the trademark tan color on the walls. You wouldn't even know that the building of the old Wawa is the same. The project costed approximately around $1,000,000! Here is the result:

Ice Skating at the Media Water Works!

One benefit of the recent cold weather: frozen ponds and streams!  The ice was in great shape for skating on New Year's Day on Ridley Creek, just above the Media water works.

Large areas of ice have been cleared of snow.  The ice is thick and so people have been playing hockey or just skating.

In other areas, a long path has been cleared.  You can skate a long way up the Creek.

Two Wawas In A Posting!

In Media, there are currently two Wawas being redone! The Rose Tree Wawa has been demolished to make a new Super Wawa, and the Media Wawa is undergoing renovations. Since Wawa has changed their main color of stores, the Media Wawa is getting the new siding to match the rest. It will look much like the Paoli Wawa or the Broomall Wawa. As for Rose Tree, that store is now closed and will be demolished soon.
Part of the Media Wawa's old siding has already entirely been torn off.

This picture shows partially what changes have been made to the Media Wawa so far.

The Rose Tree Wawa is looking much like a ghost building before it was demolished. Now, though, it has fallen.

Gotta Have A Wawa!

With the holiday season coming, everyone is out and about - especially Santa! Plus, everyone's gotta have a Wawa, and that includes him. Santa, or at least an elf, has just been spotted in the Media Wawa. He was preparing himself a cup of coffee. Here is a photo of the true sighting!

Even Santa goes to the Media Wawa!

Another Great Santa Parade!

The Santa parade is always growing each year. This year, there were tractors, an eagles golf cart, and many other new things to accompany everything else. The crowds also grow every year. This parade is one that will never stop growing!

The Final Posting: A Sunken Ship

This is the final posting of the old Campbell's Boat House.  Campbell's Boat House has sunk (been demolished) in order to build the new Rose Tree Wawa. It is a shame that this restaurant, like many others, has had to close. It now lies at the bottom of the sea with The Towne House, The Media Inn, and The Little Inn. The only local survivor is The Riddle Ale House. Media has been changing recently. But it will always be the number one town!

The Boat House sign, leading to nothing.

In this picture, you can see that the dock piers are the only things still standing.

The Boat House Sinks!

As a follow up to the last posting, we have another story about the Rose Tree Wawa! As you may know, in order to build the Wawa, they are going to demolish Campbell's Boathouse and a house next door. And so, today, the sharp rocks of equipment fired up and poked a hole in the boathouse, and down the ship went. The house that was next door also sank. The all-new Wawa project is underway.

Rose Tree Super Wawa: Getting Close!

If you are not aware, the Rose Tree Wawa is getting demolished to become a new Super Wawa. They have bought up two properties next to it for the building. One of those was Campbell's Boathouse. Just recently, they put a temporary fence around it and brought in heavy demolition equipment. Soon, it will be torn down, and the Super Wawa project under way. If you drive by, you can see for yourself. Can't wait!

Another new store front in Media!

If you went to the Media food fest, and you entered it by the Media theater, you would have seen a new store! At the site of the old China Nails Salon, there is a new store called "Studio 47." (Or it least has a new name). Here is the picture. Since it was the food fest, we apologize for the amount of people in it.
"There is a new store called 'Studio 47.'"

Two New Retail Stores On State Street!

On State Street, in the old spot of the Media Florist, a new store is coming in. It will be called "Unique Boutique." Right next to it, another new store is coming in. It will be called "Home To DVD". It will be a store where you bring in your home videos and they will put it on DVD. Here are some pictures of the new retail spots:

Here is the new store, "Unique Boutique"

Media Flashback: Retail Growth At The Media Shopping Center!

Over the course of the year, the Media Shopping Center has grown in different ways. For starters, a long time after the old "We Love Pets," a Petvalu has come! Second, after the old Tantopia closed, a
T. Mobile came. Third, after the Verizon closed, the Benjamin Moore changed locations and moved in there. Finally, once the Lukoil shuttered its windows, it has been torn down to be rebuilt into a Starbucks (We Think) and have a spot for one other business, too!

Rose Tree Wawa Now Open!

The Rose Tree Wawa on Providence road is now open! It is Media's third Wawa. The original was one the first Wawas ever to be built. Even...
